Discounts Screen

Note: Are you looking for more advanced discount configuration options? Review the new Advanced Discounts feature which allows you to customize how discounts are applied based on a range of rules and criteria.

The Discounts screen is where you can enter, edit and review information about your discounts.

Add or Edit a Discount

  1. Use the search bar on the left side of the Discounts screen to filter your list of discounts.
  2. Tap the + button to add a new discount.
  3. Tap ••• in the upper right-hand corner to edit or remove an existing discount.

There are multiple discount options in Bindo: Regular Discount, Mix & Match Discount, and Advanced Discount.  This article covers the Regular Discount and Mix & Match Discount, see more information on the Advanced Discount here. A Regular Discount involves a flat percentage or dollar amount off that can be applied to any item, department, or sale. A Mix & Match Discount is a flat percentage or dollar amount off on a group of products and involves a minimum quantity purchase requirement to become active.

All discounts can be set up to automatically apply to specific products or departments, as well as for a specific date or date range.  Discounts that are not set up to automatically apply can still be applied to a product or sale, as explained in the Applying Discounts at Check Out article.

Setting up a Regular Discount

  1. Tap the + button and select "Regular Discount"
  2. Enter Discount Title
  3. Select the Discount type - "Percentage Off" or "Amount Off", enter your Discount percent off or dollar amount off.
  4. Add a Discount Code to associate the discount with a specific barcode which can be scanned on the register screen so that the discount is added to the sale.
  5. Deduct Tax Base is checked by default. Uncheck this box if this is a manufacturer coupon.
  6. If you want the Discount to apply automatically to specific product(s) or department(s), or to apply on a specific date or within a specific date range check the box "Automatically apply discount". Tap on the "Department or Product" text to select a Department or Product for which the discount should automatically apply. Tap on the "Duration" text and set a Start Date and End Date. If you want the discount to apply all of the time, leave the Duration set as "Anytime". Otherwise set both a Start Date and End Date. To make the discount apply on one day select that date as both Start and End Date.

Setting up a Mix & Match Discount

Tap the + button and select "Mix & Match Discount"

Enter Discount name in the "Group Name" field. Enter minimum quantity required for the discount to apply in the "Qty Required" field. In the example below we create a discount called "Buy Two Polos Get 20% Off" - and in that case the "Qty Required" is 2.

Select the Discount type - "Percentage Off" or "Amount Off", enter your Discount percent off or dollar amount off.

Deduct Tax Base is checked by default. Uncheck this box if this is a manufacturer coupon.

Select the products or departments for the discount. Tap on the "Products or Departments" button and tap "Department" or "Product". If you select Department the discount will apply on all products in the department(s) you select whenever the minimum quantity required is met for products in the department, otherwise select individual products.  In the example below multiple individual products have been selected.

If you want the Discount to apply automatically for a specific date or within a specific date range check the box "Automatically apply discount". Tap on the "Duration" text and set a Start Date and End Date. If you want the discount to apply all of the time, leave the Duration set as "Anytime". Otherwise set both a Start Date and End Date. To make the discount apply on one day select that date as both Start and End Date.

See you discount in effect at the register screen. If you've set up your discount properly and it is set to automatically apply you should see it apply automatically whenever you meet the criteria that you defined on the discount page. In the screenshot below the discount is showing because enough eligible products have been added to the sale.
